Bromley by Bow Centre

The Bromley by Bow Centre is a pioneering charity that combines an extensive neighbourhood hub with a medical practice and a community research project.

The Centre supports people with a wide variety of integrated services based on their individual needs because they know that health is primarily driven by social factors, not medical ones.

Rob Trimble, the Centre’s Chief Executive, was an adviser to Well North throughout the four-year programme. We are delighted that he continues to advise Well North Enterprises, sharing his insight and practical experience of improving health and pioneering a ‘communities in business’ approach using enterprise as a tool for economic development.

The below photos, which are now in the Science Musuem, show the original model of the Bromley by Bow Centre buildings.

“This is an important piece of the history of the health service in the UK and our influencing of it. Much of the present thinking about the future of the health service re integrated health buildings, networks and systems has its origins in this building and our willingness to take a serious financial risk in 1994.” Lord Andrew Mawson.
